Good Things to Know: February 13th 2025

It's been a while, but I'm finally putting my money where my mouth is. I'll admit, I was a bit overwhelmed by the executive orders coming out and the amount of sheer bullshit. But I've seen a lot of people resisting as well, sometimes openly rebelling, so I'm refusing to give in to the depression.

I've seen quite a lot of good info being shared around, so I thought I'd collect some of it on this blog from time to time. First of all, there's a spreadsheet of all the anti-LGBTQ legislation and executive orders, courtesy of Alejandra Caraballo and others.

Secondly, The Transfeminine Review has put together a guide to preserving trans literature, something that will be necessary going foreward. For Furry writers, I've added an addendum of my on on BlueSky:

If you are a Trans #FurryFiction writer, make it a point to turn on ebook sharing on SoFurry.

Start putting together zines with your stuff. Get a printer if you can, use a library if you can't. Backup your shit locally, not on g-drive.

On the immigrant front, Shepard made a Blue Sky thread of things you can do to help immigrants if you are not one. I'd say its worth a read, and definitely a share or two or three.

Lastly, and most solemnly, the media is intentionally burying the story of Elisa Rae Shup's suicide, which was made in protest to the laws and executive orders targeting trans folks. Read their story. Share it. Keep their memory alive, and don't let the bastards grind you done.

I hope to continue making posts like these periodically. You can follow me on Blue Sky, or if you're on the fediverse, you can follow this blog directly @mercymorbid@write.as. Lastly, if you found this post to be helpful, consider leaving me a tip on Ko-Fi. I don't have a job, and anything you can spare would really help.

Til next time.
